Little Gingy

Hi there everyone,

How are you all? It seems like an age since I was here last. Lots of factors got in the way, school holidays, going away on holiday and a neck/shoulder injury not to mention loosing my crafting mojo along the way!! Hey ho never mind back now. So while I have been away the Autumn/Winter catalogue went live and what yummy stuff was in there!

I got the chance to pre-order and ordered a few things that I needed you know, I never wanted them I needed them! There is a difference…….lol. Anyway the box from Stampin Up just when I was leaving to do a class that did not finish till 9pm then the very next day I went to Scotland for a week…..then when I came back I can you believe this FORGOT that it was there!!! So needless to say I never took full advantage of the pre-order as it was at least 3 weeks before opening the box!!

Anyway here is my project for you img_1360

don’t they look uber cute!! I have attached the paper clips on to a piece of cherry cobbler which has been embossed with the CABLE KNIT DYNAMIC TEXTURED EMBOSSING FOLDER. This is a great folder and gives you a really deep emboss.

I have no Instructions or measurements for you today but I do have a video.

It is really fun making these, I hope you give it a try yourself. My children loved making the snowmen ones last year .

So on Santa’s hat I used a piece of glimmer paper. I just stamped his hat on the glimmer paper and then cut out the fur…..simples.  That is all I have for you today, I hope to be back with you again this week depending on shoulder/neck. I hope you have a great week and happy crafting to you all, whatever you may be making . Mandy x

Shoot for the Stars

Hi Everyone,

How are you all today? I have been busy busy what with the school holidays and Coffee and a Card. It just seems that during the holidays every time I sit down to craft, my children want to do something……….not that I mind though as I think that, In a year or two it will probably be uncool to hang out with Mummy!! So I will treasure it while it lasts.

Anyway on to today’s card. I am using the Shooting Star stamps from Stampin! Up with the matching Sliding Star framelits. I love playing with these framelits and you can stick just about anything on to spin!

The dimensions I used are pretty much my standard.

All dimensions are in inches

Soft Sky Card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/4 scored at 4 1/8

( The reason I do this is I like to use Stampin Up Crumb cake medium envelopes)

Night of Navy card stock 5 1/4 x 3 7/8

scrap of whisper white and a scrap of Daffodil delight.

All I simply did was stamp the little star randomly all over the card in versa mark. Then cover with Silver embossing powder. I love the effect that embossing gives. It makes the background extra special! Then I placed what i like to call the smiley face frame lit at the top portion of the card and cut out using the big shot. I then stick this layer to the base layer of the card using Dimensional. I use 6 with also sticking some in the middle, be careful though as you don’t want to interfere with the mechanism.

For the Star spinner I simply stamped it on to whisper white and using a blender pen coloured the image in. Once that was done I used the 1 inch circle punch for the star to rest on as I found it I did not use anything you could see the pennies below.

For to make your card slide you need two 1p pieces and a dimensional. YOU NEED TO TRIM THE DIMENSIONALS CORNERS OFF TO MAKE IT MORE ROUNDED SO THAT IT WILL SPIN FREELY. So sorry for shouting!! I have forgot to do that important part quite a few times and wondered why it would not spin! Stick the pennies together using the same dimensional and squeeze it into the gap so the penny has the card sandwiched in the gap where the dimensional is. TIP YOUR CARD TO MAKE SURE IT MOVES.  (again sorry with the shouty! I have done the next part a few times and had to rip it off to start again) Once it moves freely you can stick your star on top of the pennies. Walla!! Spinner card.

Now all you have to do is your greeting and you are done. So fast and so simple to do. As I said I love doing these cards and my children love making them too.

I hope you enjoyed my project today. I will catch up with you on Friday hopefully with a video linked to my post on my final spinner card for the week.

If you would like to purchase any of the items used to make this card or you simply want to give your crafty stash a boost just click on one of the pictures below and it will take you to my ONLINE Shop that is open 24/7.
